School Pride - I think not

As I have watched this situation unfold I have repeatedly been puzzled at the secrecy enforced by NDA. As our Blogger mentioned society is expecting honest and open communication. A "gag-order" is associated with wrongdoing and cover-ups and rarely initiated to protect innocent parties, rather to protect those who would face ridicule and shame related to their actions. Mary Ellen was effectively gagged when she was forced to sign a non-disclosure agreement during a time of extreme stress and emotional pain. What is it that NDA wishes to hide?

We who know and love Mary Ellen also feel betrayed by NDA. She cannot speak for herself and our questions remain unanswered by those whose job is to teach women to be honest, to question, to live with integrity, and to demonstrate qualities that depict an education which far exceeds mere book learning. Where does this show integrity? Honesty?

I will not be silent, I will continue to question.
